In many traditions this time of year , the longest night, gives birth to a new season. The long sleep of mother earth gives way to longer days and a return of the sun. Folk would bring a tree or pine bough into their homes to symbolize life and growth. It is a time of family and friends to gather and appreciate each other.

It's also a time to look inward. To give your body the rest it needs. Like a bear hunkering down to rejuvenate for the coming year. Our culture does not do this enough but I believe we are learning slowly. Saying no to the hamster wheel, no to societies norms of working until you die.

I've always had a compilcated relationship with money. I've never understood why some people use money the way they do. Like its going to make their life better if they have more and more. . I've also looked at it like a necessary evil. Being a working artist most of my life I've always been frugal and tried very hard not to let money sway me into being someone Im not. So why am I bringing this up? Because it is so important to use your money for good things this holiday season. Support the arts because without art the world would be such a boring place! Support local business instead of big corporations. The money you spend in your community directly help your community. Donate money to organizations that help people, especially now with so many struggling just to make ends meet. Make this holiday a time to celebrate family and friends.

Im getting ready to do the Silver City Holiday Sale this coming weekend at the convention center here in town. It will be Saturday 10:00 til 4 and Sunday 11:00 til 3:00. I've made alot of beautiful pieces especially for this show.

I've also added more on the website shop. These are all one of a kind pieces so please dont procrastinate if you see something that sparks your fancy. I will be removing pieces on the shop as they sell this weekend. Also just a reminder shipping is always free.

Now for some music. I found this guy on instagram awhile back ago. Fell in love with his music. Its raw and powerful. His name is Waagal.

Here's another one. Im so inspired by all these younger people who are discovering a new way to be. This man's name is St. Finnikin. Enjoy.

Well thats it for this month. I'll be back in January with new a new blog. Also I will be posting new work on the webite once a week so stay tuned! Until we meet again, happy holidays and dont forget to be grateful. Blessings
